Tom Selleck marked 80th birthday at Maccas drive-thru
Tom Selleck marked his 80th birthday with a low-key celebration that included a stop at McDonald's.
The actor marked the milestone on Wednesday and was spotted at the fast food restaurant in Thousand Oaks, California on his big day.
Selleck, known for his iconic role in Magnum, PI, was photographed picking up lunch via the drive-thru and eating it in his truck.
It comes after his candid admissions about his unsentimental view of birthdays.
He stated in December in an interview with Parade about his then-upcoming 80th: "I'll probably have dinner with maybe my brother and my sister and Jillie, just go out to dinner, kind of be quiet and not make a big deal of it."
Tom, who found fame playing TV's private investigator Thomas Magnum, has experienced decades of success in both television and film. Despite the big milestones in his career, the actor has kept a relatively private life, preferring low-key celebrations on birthdays.
In 2024, his beloved series Blue Bloods concluded after 14 seasons.
Speaking with TV Insider, he said about it ending: "I'm kind of frustrated. During those last eight shows, I haven't wanted to talk about an ending for 'Blue Bloods' but about it still being wildly successful."
The actor also lamented the series had been "taken for granted" due to its consistent performance, ranking sixth among all TV shows in total viewers in 2023 to 2024.
Selleck, who lives in California with his wife Jillie, recently stayed busy writing his autobiography.
He revealed the book, You Never Know, was handwritten before publication, telling Town and Country: "I can't think in front of a keyboard."
