The first customer deliveries of the JAC T9 – the latest dual-cab ute from China – have begun just in time for the Christmas holiday break, and more examples are due to come in the new year.

JAC’s distributor LTS Auto received its first volume shipment of the T9 earlier this month, following the arrival of media and evaluation vehicles in early 2024.

Priced from $42,662 before on-road costs in entry-level Oasis guise, and $45,630 plus on-roads for the Haven variant, the T9 is now being sold via 62 Australian dealership locations.

JAC Australia hasn’t confirmed how many examples have arrived in showrooms, but this month the 1000th Australia-bound T9 was produced in China before being shipped here.

The JAC T9 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine making 125kW of power and 410Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed automatic from ZF and four-wheel drive.

It’s backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, for both private and commercial operators.

Servicing intervals are 15,000km or 12 months, whichever comes first. JAC has announced the following capped prices across the first seven services.

This is more than the average capped-price service costs for the Ford Ranger (four years), Isuzu D-Max, Volkswagen Amarok and GWM Ute (all five years), but JAC offers a longer capped-price service program.

JAC has also partnered with CarBiz to offer complimentary loan vehicles to T9 owners while warranty repairs are being undertaken.
