The Harvey Bulls endured their second big defeat in a fortnight after proving to be no match for the Carey Park Panthers.

Playing at Harvey Oval on Sunday as part of their annual Back to Bombers Day celebrating the club’s history, the struggling side lost 16.16 (112) to 3.4 (22) to the stronger-performing visitors.

The home team were in trouble from early on, with the Panthers finding holes in the Bulls’ defence.

Harry Jones kicked four majors for the winning team, while teammates Kelvin Lawrence, Brady Lenaghan and Rory O’Brien notched up three each.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault made it three-in-a-row with a easy win against bottom-of-the-ladder Collie on Saturday.

In the match at Collie Recreation Ground, the visitors returned home with a 13.5 (83) to 7.3 (45) victory.

The Lions got off to a good start in the first quarter, kicking four goals to the Eagles’s two.

HBL were sitting at more than double Collie’s score at the half-time mark, leading by 20 points, and a six goal blitz in the final quarter sealed the deal for the Lions, who won by 38 points.

The three-goal haul of HBL’s Blake Offer saw him be the leading scorer of the match.

In the other match of the round, the Dunsborough Sharks proved too good at home for Eaton, winning the game 11.6 (72) to 5.7 (37).
