Osborne Park man charged with dangerous driving after pedestrian died when hit by a car in Kings Park

A driver has been charged over the death of a pedestrian after being hit by car in Kings Park. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Kings Park Road after a 67-year-old woman was hit by a black Toyota Yaris hatchback just before 7am on Tuesday. The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a St John WA ambulance but did not survive. The 30-year-old male driver was on Wednesday charged with dangerous driving causing death in circumstances of aggravation. Major crash officers examined the scene on Tuesday. The driver was not hurt and assisted with inquiries. The right lane of Kings Park Road westbound at Kulunga Grove was closed to the public for most of Tuesday, with drivers urged to avoid the area. The driver, from Osborne Park, is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday. In a separate incident on Tuesday, a woman in her 50s was hit by a car on Vincent Street in Leederville.
