A senior constable attached with a specialist command at NSW Police has been charged with two counts of murder over the suspicious disappearance of two men — just hours after turning himself in to authorities.

Beau Lamarre-Condon presented to Bondi police station on Friday morning after NSW Police launched a manhunt for him Thursday night after declaring him a person of interest in the disappearance of former Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird, 26, and his partner, Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, 29.

Police will allege the constable used his service weapon to kill the two men before putting their bodies into a white van and transporting them to a location to dispose of the bodies — information which remains unknown by police at this stage.

It is believed Mr Lamarre-Condon hired the van after allegedly committing the murders to move the bodies.

The couple vanished from Mr Baird’s Paddington home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on Monday — but it wasn’t until Wednesday that the alarm was raised after Mr Davies’ family couldn’t reach him.

Police on Thursday said Mr Lamarre-Condon, 28, was wanted for questioning over the disappearance of the pair after receiving information he had previously dated Mr Baird.

It is believed the subsequent break-up between the pair was bitter and Mr Baird had reportedly expressed concerns for his safety.

Mr Lamarre-Condon — a former celebrity blogger turned police officer — handed himself in on Friday and has since been charged over the alleged double homicide.

“He will be formally refused bail by police and expected to face court,” Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told reporters on Friday.

Det-Supt Doherty said the “projectile at the premises which had been discharged and also a fired cartridge case” found at the Paddington scene had been “physically matched to a NSW Police firearm” and would form part of the evidence against Mr Lamarre-Condon.

The stunning arrest came just hours after CCTV obtained by 7NEWS emerged showing the two missing men standing outside Mr Baird’s Paddington home on Monday evening before heading inside.

A white van is then seen in the footage driving past the property, in what is believed to be the last sighting of the pair.

The footage emerged as detectives late on Thursday executed a search warrant on a home understood to be linked to the family of Mr Lamarre-Condon.

In a statement, NSW Police said officers seized a “number of items” but would not reveal any further information.

Mr Lamarre, a celebrity blogger before joining the force, was spotted outside the home of US celebrities Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker while in Sydney for Blink-182’s concerts.

On social media he is pictured with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, among other celebrities.

Grave concerns were held for Mr Baird and Mr Davies after bloodied clothes, credit cards and keys belonging to the pair were found in a skip bin in Cronulla in Sydney’s south earlier this week.

It is understood an employee at a nearby venue reported the items to police after finding them about 11am on Wednesday.

Mr Baird’s terrace home was declared a crime scene after police found a “large amount of blood” and bloodstained furniture at the house.

Forensic investigators combed through items and furniture from Mr Baird’s home and neighbours were quizzed for any possible clues.

Two cars were seized from the Paddington property and one from another address.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Waverley Police or Crime Stoppers.

Lamarre-Condon appeared in Waverley Local Court on Friday where he did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
