Chapman leads by example for KBCA in Perth
Captain Josh Chapman belied the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Cricket Association’s struggles in D-section at last week’s country week series in Perth to be ranked 12th overall in batting.
Chapman compiled 131 runs at 26.20 in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the KBCA, who were winless across their five matches.
Zac Stewart was the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 69 at 13.80.
Bunbury’s Stuart Hayward led all D-section batters with 234 runs at 58.50, with Esperance’s Jarrod Hansen coming in fourth with 183 runs at 45.75.
Stewart was the KBCA’s best bowler with five wickets at 18.80.
That category was led by Busselton-Margaret River’s Thomas Reagan, who grabbed 13 wickets at 9.31.
Esperance’s Shane Tobin was eighth on the overall list, with eight wickets at 7.50.
