A WA local is now set for life and will receive an eye-watering $20,000 a month for the next 20 years after a lucky Friday night draw.

The winning ticket for the Set For Life Lotto was bought from Northam Central Newsagency.

WA’s newest winner was the only person across the country to take home the Division One prize.

Lotterywest spokesman James Mooney said: “Imagine starting your weekend knowing you will receive $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

“It’s fantastic to celebrate our first set-for-life winner in WA in 2024, with this win taking our division one tally for the year to 28.”

The winning ticket was drawn on Friday night and the search has started for WA’s first Set for Life winner this year.

WA had two Division One winners for the Super draw a few weeks ago, followed by a local man claiming his Division One Silkpik win a month after finding out he had the winning numbers.

The next major draw for WA players will be on Thursday in the Powerball $30 million jackpot.

Tickets will be available until 6 pm on Thursday via the Lotterwest app or in-store.
