Manjimup shire councillor Dave Tapley this month celebrates 25 years of serving the community.

The south ward councillor, based in Walpole, was first elected to Manjimup Shire Council in May, 1995, and has served the community non-stop since.

This is Cr Tapley’s seventh term on the council and shire president Paul Omodei described him as the ideal councillor.

“His focus is always his community and what he can do to make their quality of life better,” Cr Omodei said.

“He’s a true gentlemen and an absolute champion on council, we could all learn a lot from Dave.

“Whilst his community means the world to him, he always makes an effort to be a part of initiatives and projects in other wards and has a strong representation at council events.”

Cr Tapley’s achievements include his contribution to Keep Australia Beautiful and Walpole’s Tidy Towns reputation.

“Congratulations to you Dave, we whole-heartedly thank you for everything you do both for the shire and for council,” Cr Omodei said.
