The Boyup Brook Community Resource Centre has celebrated its 25th anniversary of serving the community with a virtual birthday party on March 19.
Representatives from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Linkwest, members of the CRC and community partners, as well as original chairman Greg Banfield and co-ordinator Jenny Clark, joined a virtual birthday party hosted on Zoom.
The event provided opportunities for centre alumni to share stories of its early days.
Centre manager Jodi Nield said that 25 years was a great milestone.
“We sincerely thank the community of Boyup Brook for the support we have received over this period,” she said.
“We look forward to continuing to do what we do for our community for many years to come, whatever that may look like, we’ll be here.”
Originally known as the Telecentre, since being established in 1995, the facility has undergone two expansions — in 2004/2005 and 2012 — and has employed 19 people since its trainee program began in 2006.
