Car, truck collide on SW highway
The police Major Crash unit is investigating a fatal crash on December 13 involving an 86-year-old Bridgetown man.
Bridgetown officer-in-charge Sgt Phil Nation said the crash occurred near the intersection of Hester Road and South Western Highway.
The car and a truck heading north on South Western Highway collided about 3.30pm.
Sgt Nation said it was a minor crash and the 86-year-old was taken to Bridgetown hospital for a check-up and because he was shaken from the crash.
“Unfortunately he deteriorated from there and was taken to RPH, where he died,” Sgt Nation said.
It is believed a third vehicle, possibly a blue Ford Ranger, may have also been involved in the crash.
