Free event has something for the whole family
It was delayed for three months, but this weekend Manjimup’s combined churches will put on a family-friendly event to replace the cancelled 2017 Christmas in the Park.
The mid-December event was cancelled last year due to poor weather and Carols by Candlelight was shifted to the Manjimup Town Hall.
This Saturday’s Fun in the Park is the replacement event and families are being encouraged to get along for an afternoon of fun.
Co-organiser Lisa Henderson said she was excited to see the event belatedly come to the community.
“As promised, Fun in the Park is the combined churches’ free gift to the community,” she said.
Activities kick-off from 4pm at the Manjimup Timber Park and include a bouncy castle, a merry-go-round, face painting, climbing wall, food, Devonshire tea, the Lions Train and live entertainment.
There will be a free sausage sizzle from 5.30pm and there will be a Breakfree DJ Dance Party for youths and young adults, with hip hop artist Mr Swagger, DJ Whitey and motivational speaker Trent Garrett.
Planning is already under way for the December event.
