The Manjimup Lions Club is hosting its annual sheep shearing fundraiser, which raises money for the club and also helps out farmers in the area.

On October 19 a team of volunteers will shear for $10 a sheep at Stoiche’s Shed along West Boundary Road, with drenching and lice control also included in the price.

Manjimup Lions Club president Pat Martin said the fundraiser had been running for many years and had always been a success.

“I have been with the Lions for about nine years and it was happening before I started so you could say it is a long-standing tradition,” she said.

“The people who have booked in their sheep will be told what time to bring them in, we try and stagger them to be more organised.”

Ms Martin said sheep must be booked in by October 15 so the club can organise when people should deliver them to the shed. To book, contact Gail Brealey on 97996127 or Murray Fouracres on 97721325.
