Organisers of the inaugural twilight markets at the Manjimup Farmers Market are hailing the night a success.

The market, which was held on Friday night instead of the usual Saturday, received positive feedback from attendees, according to Manjimup Farmers Market secretary Beth Shorthouse.

“It was great to see so many locals and it was great that the event brought the community together like it did,” she said.

“The atmosphere was great.”

Mrs Shorthouse said about 600 people had attended the markets, which was a jump in numbers from the last twilight markets held on February 3, which had about 350 people attend.

“Many locals who hadn’t been before were surprised at just how much the markets have to offer,” she said.

“Due to the success we’ll certainly look at doing more.

“We might look at doing one in December, when the weather warms up – because it might be a bit cool in March.”

The Manjimup Farmers Market is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 8.30am to 12.30pm in Manjin Park, with extra market days added for long weekends or special events.

The next market is on February 17.
