Manjimup’s Italian sausage makers flocked to Tigers Football Club on Friday night for the chance to be crowned as having the best Italian sausage in the district.

Organised by Daniel Terrigno, the competition attracted 40 entrants, presenting their wares to a judging panel consisting of Nathan Walter, Fabio Renzullo, Gary Hodgson and Belinda Parker.

First prize was taken out by a team effort sausage made by Jack Giacomel, Kerry Reeve and Brenton Hart, with Don Terrigno and his family taking out second prize for their sausage.

Club president David Hanratty said support for the inaugural event was overwhelming and the event was so popular it would return again next year.

“It will be bigger and better next year,” he said.

“We had a great turnout, it was well organised and it was a very popular night.”
