The stage has been set for a massive Lower South West Football League grand final this weekend after Deanmill thumped the reigning premiers to go head-to-head with the red-hot Boyup Brook Roos.

The Bulldogs started strong, with young recruit Levi Nichol kicking the first goal of the game, going into the main change with a four-point advantage.

It turned into a one-sided game come the third term when Deanmill’s defence pulled all the stops, refusing to concede another goal to last year’s premiership winners.

Bridgetown finished the third term goalless while Deanmill played with a fierce intensity to almost double their score and lead by 51 points at the final change.

Boyup Brook supporters were said to be cheering for Deanmill at the final siren, clearly stoked that Bridgetown would not get the opportunity to defeat them in a grand final rematch.

Deanmill will take on the Boyup Brook Roos at Kojonup Sporting Complex this Saturday September 17 in what is bound to be a fantastic game of competitive football.

It was more great news for Deanmill in reserves action, with the club defeating the Imperials 9.4 (58) to 4.14 (38) in a one-sided affair. Brendan Davis kicked three goals and Martin Leggerini, Kallum East and Tim Clifford had stand-out performances.

In the colts, Bridgetown managed to secure a finals placement against the Tigers after they defeated Imperials 14.9 (93) to 9.9 (63).

Bridgetown’s Cody Ward has a cracker of a game kicking five goals. The Imperials Caption Jake Cooper and Vice-Captain Max East both had fantastic games despite the loss.
