Manjimup a new beat for policing pair

A new year has brought two new faces to the Manjimup police station.

The new officers at the station are the new officer-in-charge Sgt Isaac Rinaudo and Sen. Const. Paul Shields.

Sgt Rinaudo began at the station on January 7 and came from Leonora Police Station.

Sen. Const. Shields began on December 3, 2018, from Ravensthorpe Police Station.

“I’ve been enjoying it so far, it’s been busier so far, which is good,” Sen. Const. Shields said.

“It keeps the mind active and there’s a great bunch of guys here.

“I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

Sgt Rinaudo said it was his 10th country town posting and he had met a lot of nice and personable people.

One of his areas of focus during his time in Manjimup was to engage with the community.

“My focus will be enforcing the law, preventing crime, responding to and managing emergencies, but also being more community-minded,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to the change and meeting the community.”

Sgt Rinaudo said he also wanted to do more school visits.
