Pink Ladies score victory over the Mystics in the 12th week of Manjimup basketball competition

The Mystics and the Pink Ladies clashed at the Manjimup Indoor Sports Pavilion for the 12th week of the Manjimup basketball competition last Wednesday.

The Pink Ladies came in hot with aggressive offensive play and shots scored by Chyenne Forrest, Ella Reeve, Adele East, Stella Introvigne, Emma Watts, Lucy Graven and Emily Millar.

The Mystics put up a fight trying to narrow the Pink Ladies’ strong lead, with shots scored by Hannah Potts, Lauren Edwards and Emma Podzuka.

The Pink Ladies ended the first half in the lead with a score of 26-5.

In the second half, the Pink Ladies tried to stretch their lead ,with scoring from Hayley Kilrain, Emma Watts, Emily Millar, Adele East, Stella Introvigne and Chyenne Forrest, and a strong priority on defensive play.

The Mystics were determined to catch up to the Pink Ladies and take over the lead, with shots scored by Bailey Collett, Emma Podzuka, Charlotte Walker, Lauren Edwards and Tahnee Bornatici.

However, the Mystics’ efforts were not enough to stop the Pink Ladies winning, with a final score of 51-29.

In the men’s senior competition, Hawks A had a 35-point win over the Yabbies, 67-32, the Raiders defeated the Dingoes, 39-35, the Wolfpack toppled the Dribblers, 33-16, the Barracudas overwhelmed the Tropics, 63-22, Purple Cobras beat the Warriors, 55-22, and Hawks B won against the Giants, 40-36.

In the women’s A-grade competition, Comets Red beat the Slam Drunks, 30-27, Senators Yellow had a 15-point victory against the Aces, 39-24.

In the women’s B-grade competition, the Saints defeated the Aus Stars, 36-27, the Diamonds beat the Comets U19, 21-16, the Bush Chooks won against the Senators Blue, 34-21, and Magpies Blue drew with Magpies Orange due to forfeit.
