Police recover body from dam

The body of a 30-year-old man who failed to resurface from Shannon Dam while kayaking was recovered yesterday.

Police were called to the D-side coast of Shannon Dam about 7.30pm Wednesday night where two men had been kayaking.

One man made it to safety while the other man did not resurface.

The family of the man have been notified and do not wish to speak to media at this time.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
