The Warren Catchments Council is calling on the community to help shape its draft strategic plan.

The council wants people to complete its community land care survey in order to identify community priorities for land care activities and natural resource management objectives in the region.

Warren Catchments Council community engagement officer Julian Sharp said the responses would help develop the strategic planning document.

“We think it is important that the community has the opportunity to identify and prioritise land care and environmental issues and help determine the best and most appropriate community driven responses and on-ground actions,” he said.

Questions include thoughts on what individuals think is the most important environmental issue for local and regional communities and whether individuals have the knowledge and skills to contribute to community-based land care activities.

“We are also encouraging the community to come forward with creative and innovative responses to local land care and NRM issues and to engage with caring for our place and our environment in whatever capacity they can,” Mr Sharp said.

The council will hold community meetings throughout the region from mid-March to May to give feedback on the survey.

The survey will be delivered to houses and post office boxes in the Shire of Manjimup and will also be available through a link on the council’s Facebook page.
