Showcase of fun and more at family day
Children of all ages from around Nannup enjoyed the warm weather and activities provided at the family fun day on January 22.
Go for 2 & 5 Nannup Family Fun Day had more than 500 people pass through over the course of the day and featured activities such as bungee trampolines, a high ropes course, water slides and climbing wall among other things.
There was also plenty of activities targeted at children six years old and younger to ensure there was something for everyone.
Economic and community development officer Louise Stokes said a highlight of the day had been the Bubbleman.
“He created beautiful massive bubbles for everyone to admire and catch,” she said.
She also said the community event was about more than just having fun.
“The family fun day not only provides opportunities for young people to get involved in the organising, volunteering and hosting of the event but is a showcase to the broader region of how well everyone can work together and have fun without drugs or alcohol,” she said.
“Grant funding assists to keep the entry price affordable for families to attend, and appreciation is extended to Healthway, Local Drug Action Group, Roadwise, South West Catchment Council and the Shire of Nannup for their support.”
