Tara wins national contest
Bridgetown High School students will enjoy $500 worth of new art supplies, thanks to student Tara Chadwick.
Tara entered Bridgetown Newsagency’s Easter colouring competition and won, qualifying her piece for the national Newspower competition.
By winning the eight-to-12-year-old category in the national competition, Tara earned herself a $200 prize pack and a $500 prize pack for her school, supplied by Acco Brands.
“When Haley said you’ve won the colouring competition, it’s going to go into the national one, we didn’t really think much of it,” Tara said.
“I never thought I was going to win the national competition.”
Principal Carol Thorsby said the school was proud of Tara.
“She’s chosen to enter and do this all off her own back and bring such a wonderful prize pack into the school, not only for the school but also for herself,” she said.
“We are very grateful to Bridgetown Newsagency, Newspower and Acco for their support, it’s a real bonus for us.”
