It is less than one month until the Warren District Agricultural Show and people are being urged to prepare their entries for the various competitions.

One such competition — that has this year undergone major changes — is the unofficial show jumping.

Changes this year include a change of location for the show jumping within the showgrounds and the introduction of a new competition class.

Showjumping volunteer Jane Bentley said while the show jumping would still include the usual classes for participants, organisers had introduced a team event.

“Something unique this year is the team event that will include two adults over 18 and two juniors 12 or under,” she said.

“The adults will jump the 80cm and juniors the 50cm.

“Then the winning team will be determined by adding up the points from each team member.”

Mrs Bentley said organisers were hoping to get plenty of entries for the team event and solo events.

“We’re hoping if it goes well, the sponsorship may grow and the prize money may go up,” she said.

Winners of the team event will get $200.

The show jumping section’s main organiser is Roger Kammann, a world class show jumper.
