Team steps up for a cause
The Manjimup RSM team is raising money and awareness of cerebral palsy by walking 10,000 steps each day.
Throughout four weeks of September, the eight team members are part of an RSM Australia-wide initiative called Steptember.
RSM Manjimup manager Nathan Walter said there were two teams of four in the office, which had created a competitive spirit among the group.
“It is a challenge, because we need to step a lot each day,” he said.
“You’ll often see us taking the long way around to the office because we have to sit at desks a lot.”
Mr Walter is already at 99,000 steps, with the aim of reaching 280,000 steps before the end of the month.
He said he hoped the initiative would push people to learn more about cerebral palsy.
“Doing this walking challenge is also a good way to be healthy and happy too,” Mr Walter said.
“If you see us in the street, please feel free to offer us some encouragement.”
People can also donate to Steptember by visiting the RSM Manjimup Facebook page.
