IN PICTURES: Big crowd gathers in Darkan to commemorate CWA of WA’s centenary at Betty Brown Historical Centre

A big crowd gathered in Darkan at the weekend to celebrate the CWA of WA’s centenary at the opening of an exhibition showcasing the organisation’s impact on the lives of women in the shire of West Arthur. About 100 people, including Member for the Agricultural Region Shelley Payne, attended the exhibition’s opening ceremony on Saturday at the Betty Brown Historical Centre, where photos and memorabilia from the past century were on display. Among those who came together to mark the occasion was Wagin resident Janet Robinson, who has been a CWA member for 68 years. Ms Robinson was joined at the event by her daughters Susan Lampard and Kate Colyer, and granddaughter Eva Colyer. After the official opening at 10am, visitors to the centre shared a relaxed morning of memories, tea and community.
