Roosters firebrand Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is set to miss the rest of the regular season and one finals match after the veteran prop was hit with a three-game ban by the match review committee.

Waerea-Hargreaves had only just returned from a four-match suspension for a high shot against the Dragons back in round 18 and now faces another lengthy stint on the sidelines after he was hit with a grade 2 careless high tackle charge for his high shot on former teammate Sam Verrills.

The officials initially missed the high contact only for the Bunker to tip off the referee who sent the Roosters legend to the sin bin in the 10th minute.

He will miss three games if he takes the early guilty plea for his third and subsequent offence, while he faces four matches out if he fights the charge and loses at the judiciary.

If he takes the early plea then he will return for the club’s second finals match, which could be a grand final qualifier if they win their first game.

Teammates Victor Radley ($3000) and Daniel Tupou ($1000) were also offered fines for their high tackle offences, with Radley looking at a two-match ban if they fight it and lose.

Jesse Ramien was the only other player charged out of Sunday’s games, with the Sharks centre facing a 1-2 game ban after he was hit with a grade 2 careless high tackle charge for his shot on Matthew Feagai that led to a stint in the sin bin.
