A woman and teenage boy have been rushed to hospital with stab wounds following a brutal armed home invasion.

South Australia Police say the attack happened in the Gulfview Heights suburb in Adelaide’s northeast about 3.45am on Wednesday.

Police say the 53-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy were inside a home when they were assaulted by a group of armed males.

“Police were called to a home on Nelson Rd after reports that a group of armed males forced entry into the property and stabbed two occupants,” a police spokesperson said.

“The group left the scene in a vehicle which was last seen turning on to Yulinda Terrace.”

The woman and teen suffered non-life threatening injuries in the attack, which the police believe was not random.

A third person was also assaulted and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

CCTV footage captures four people attending the address in the early morning, with torchlights appearing to flash through the darkness.

Three people can later be seen running back into the car.

The police will provide further details on the incident at 1.30pm AEDT.
