The Blackwood River was a popular spot for rafters over the weekend as the Geegeelup Cup, as part of the 2023 WildWater WA Racing Series, took place in Bridgetown, starting from the Blackwood River Park and finishing at the Blackwood River Access Ramp.

Paddle WA held their weekend races with 26 racers participating in the Geegeelup Cup over the two days, who were also competing in the State championship.
