With only a few days to go until the second annual Manjimup Truffle and Wine Festival begins, a Queensland foodie is absolutely raring to help showcase “the ultimate paddock-to-plate experience”. Lady Truffle Fine Foods’ Debbie Oliver will return to Manjimup on June 24 to 26 for her “favourite” festival to showcase the incredible array of local produce, particularly truffles. Ms Oliver said that while truffles were available all over Australia, those grown in the Manjimup and Pemberton regions are prized by chefs and discerning foodies. “The area is famous for its tall trees and lush pastures and with plenty of truffles, marron, cherries, grapes and chestnuts on offer, it’s definitely a great place for foodies to explore,” she said. The local festival is anticipated to draw thousands to the Southern Forests regions across each of the participating venues from Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe, Nannup and the surrounding areas. “There are festivals in Canberra and Melbourne, to name a few, but Manjimup is still my favourite,” Ms Oliver said. “The Manjimup Truffle and Wine Festival is the ultimate paddock-to-plate experience, whether it’s the famed fungi or grapes grown locally for wine production, coming from as close to the source as possible before consumption. “Just like their famous cherry and pinot festivals, Manjimup will be buzzing with the best kind of people — food and wine lovers.” The festival will showcase the best local producers with truffle tours, farm visits, truffle hunts, truffle and wine tastings, gourmet degustation dinners, entertainment and wine masterclasses. “I can’t wait to share that weekend fireside and under the country stars supporting the local farmers and community,” Ms Oliver said. “Make sure you put on your boots and get among them!
