MABA: Hawkers defeat Redbacks on Wednesday night with a four-point victory

Hawkers took down Redbacks to secure the Manjimup Amateur Basketball Competition round 15 win on Wednesday night with a four-point victory in Men’s A.
Redbacks stayed within touching distance for much of the contest, but Hawkers were able to pull away late for a 31-27 win.
A team effort saw Hawkers keep the lead, despite some intense offensive effort from Redbacks.
Drew Carruthers produced almost half Hawkers’ offensive output, with 13 points, while Matthew Bornatici scored the next highest, with seven points.
The competition’s leading scorer Blake Rawson produced a season-low eight points, unusual for the side’s leading points scorer who is comfortable scoring in the double digits.
Also in Men’s A, Barracudas defeated Purple Cobras 99-42, Hawks beat Dribblers 29-28, and Raiders drew 41-41 with Wolfpack.
In Men’s B, Yabbies defeated Flint Tropics 52-29, and Giants beat Billy Goats 48-30.
