Independents walked away with another in round 10 of the Manjimup Netball Association pool 2 season after defeating Globetrotters 41-36 on Monday.

It was goal-for-goal during the first quarter despite desperate attempts by both teams to break the other’s centre pass.

With two minutes to go, Globetrotters managed to extend their lead by three going into the second quarter.

Globetrotters reign did not last however, with Independents playing some clean and efficient netball, snatching a four point lead by half-time.

Independents continued to dominate in the second-half, taking some incredible intercepts and working well as a team.

An incredible shooting performance was had by Independents’ Chloe Cybula who stepped in for regular shooter Zoe Wilson, proving the team has a dominant attacking side as finals loom in four short weeks.

Despite a last ditch effort by Globetrotters’ midfield to feed consistent goals into their attacking third, Independents could not be stopped, winning by five goals.

Also in pool 2, Cosmos defeated Tigers 51-44.

In pool 1, Magpies defeated SWE 55-46, while Vixens forfeited to Magic.

Next round fixtures:

Monday senior women pool 1: Magpies v Vixens (6pm), SWE v Magic (6pm).

Monday senior women pool 2: Globetrotters v Tigers (7.15pm), Independents v Cosmos (7.15pm).
