MNA: Independents secure second win of the season against Tigers

Independents secure their second win of the season after beating Tigers 35-27 on Monday in round four of the Manjimup Netball Association Pool 2 season.

Both teams started strongly, however Independents led 8-7 at quarter-time despite some resolute defending by Tigers’ Justine Lawrence and Hannah Reynolds.

In an incredible burst of energy and skill, Tigers fought their way to a two-goal lead with eight minutes left in the quarter.

Independents weren’t to be denied however, with some incredible long-range shooting from Paige Wilson and great intercepts from Kate Tills powering their team to a 15-13 half-time lead.

Independents dominated the rest of the match with several missed goals by Tigers allowing the margin to stretch to eight when the final whistle sounded.

In the other Pool 2 game, Cosmos defeated Globetrotters 36-26, while in Pool 1 Magpies defeated Magic 57-49.

SWE and Vixens did not play due to forfeit.
