New speakeasy-style Gatsbys Skyline has officially opened its doors in Manjimup
Manjimup’s new live music venue has become the talk of the region, opening its doors to the public for the first time at the weekend over two nights of amazing performances.
The venue, located at Brockman Street in the heart of Manjimup, was bursting with energy on Friday and Saturday night with more than 200 people in attendance dressed to impress.
The speakeasy theme was enchanting the moment you stepped up to the entrance with the brightly vintage theatre billboard drawing attention, red carpet laid out under your feet, and conceirge waiting to greet you.
The inside of the venue felt just like a scene out of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, featuring a spectaular bar fit-out, elevated stage, instruments hanging from the ceilings, chandeliers, intricate metalwork and dimmed lighting.
Events director Greg Hamlyn said the opening weekend went according to plan.
“From the moment the limousine and Bentley rolled into town, you just knew something special was in the air,” he said.
“On Saturday night Catherine Summers turned up the heat, in full cabaret style the audience got to see Gatsbys in full swing, dancing girls, feather fans, sequens and all that jazz.”
Mr Hamlyn said the musicians were impressed with the sound and acoustic quality of the venue.
“The phones are running hot with performers wanting to get a spot on stage and bar hoppers and socialites are planning their trip to experience Manjimup’s hottest new cabaret lounge,” he said.
Event tickets can be purchased on the venue’s website.
