The Shire of Manjimup welcomes the appointment of a temporary chief executive officer after the resignation of Andrew Campbell, who takes with him almost 27 years of experience as the Shire’s CEO.

Shire of Manjimup director of development and regulation Brian Robinson will act in the role of CEO — as voted by council on May 4 — until a permanent appointment is made later this year.

Mr Robinson, who has worked at the Shire since 2016 and acted in the CEO role in the past, says he is confident he will transition into the role, with minimal disruption to the organisation.

“I thank Council for this opportunity and the support I have received from the senior management team and other Shire officers,” he said.

“I’ll be doing my best for the organisation and our communities.”

Mr Robinson will commence in the role from May 18.

“On behalf of Council and staff I wish outgoing CEO Andrew Campbell the very best with his new position and move to the Shire of Northampton,” he said.

“Andrew has left a legacy to Manjimup, being CEO through one of the highest periods of economic growth for the district.”

Shire of Manjimup President Paul Omodei said Council was unified in its support for Mr Robinson as temporary CEO.

“Mr Robinson will take the leadership role during a time of major changes to the structure of Council leading up to the 2023 local government elections,” he said.

“He has a long history working in local government, Council is confident in the appointment, and we look forward to working closely while the recruitment process plays out, which is expected to take several months.”
