WWHA: Competitive B-grade on Saturday with Cougars defeating Robins, while Violet Femmes and Nationals draw

Two exciting B-grade matches were played at the weekend, with the Cougars breaking the Robins’ win streak and securing the win, while the Violet Femmes and Nationals finished with a draw.

It was a week of intense competition between the four sides on Saturday during round three of the Warren Women’s Hockey Association season, making for a fantastic atmosphere for the eager spectators.

On one field at Rea Park, Cougars defeated the unbeaten Robins 1-0 despite some fierce defence from the highly competitive side.

Katie Crosby managed the goal for Cougars after a fierce attack that could not be stopped.

Crosby and Charlotte Cumming were declared MVPs for Cougars, while Geri Moore was declared MVP for Robins.

At the same time, Violet Femmes and Nationals were battling it out in an evenly matched game.

Jodie Schilders and Grae Beswick demonstrated some incredible hockey prowess for Violet Femmes, while Sydney Gibellini also put on an incredible performance for Nationals.

In the A-grade games, Nationals defeated Violet Femmes 1-0, while Cougars drew with Robins.

Natasha Omodei of Nationals was the only goal scorer for Nationals on Saturday.

MVPs were Tracy Gibellini and Amanda Roberts of Nationals, Kayla Mizzi of Violet Femmes, Hayley Ryan of Cougars, and Sharon DeCampo and Jessica McNeven of Robins.
