A magnitude 3.8 earthquake has rocked WA’s biggest mining town.

The quake’s epicentre was around 28km northwest of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, which struck around 6.40pm on Monday night at a depth of 10km.

More than 164 people reported feeling the earthquake to Geoscience Australia.

Social media has since been flooded with reports from locals, who say they felt the “rumbling” sensation.

Others confused the quake for a mining blast or a plane flying overhead.
