The Western Australia Police Force said in a statement at the time that they believed the man was from Boddington and had been in the company of one or more people leading up to the car fire.

His death was treated as suspicious at the time, with homicide detectives spending the week after the fire in Boddington making inquiries.

A 45-year-old woman has now been charged in relation to the man’s death.

She faces charges of murder, attempt unlawfully to kill, and stealing a motor vehicle.

She was due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
