Channel 7 commentator Dale Thomas announces new bundle of joy on eve of AFL season

Channel 7 commentator and AFL great Dale Thomas has shared exciting news ahead of the new season with him and his wife Natasha Bongiorno announcing their first child together.

It comes just a year after the pair tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in February last year with Thomas saying they could not be more excited for the couple’s next chapter.

Thomas said they revealed the news privately to family over the holidays ending what he described as a perfect first year together.

“Last year started with the high of our wedding and ended with this fantastic news,” he said.

“Telling loved ones over the Christmas period made for some wonderful memories and some brilliant reactions, and we will treasure this forever.

“Tash and I could not be happier to be welcoming our baby into the world in August.

“This next chapter has us both so excited.”

While they celebrated their own joy the pair also paid a touching tribute to those who were struggling to conceive.

“As happy as we are to be sharing this great personal news, we also want to acknowledge and send big love and thoughts to those who are still waiting for their baby joy. We appreciate how difficult and sensitive it can be.”
