It’s everything Fremantle fans hoped from Shai Bolton after his high-profile move West.

And it’s what he displayed as he kicked his first goal in purple, beating the quarter-time siren to get the first of his career at the Dockers.

The former Richmond goalsneak found a way to get space on Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver at a forward stoppage before reading the ruck tap from Luke Jackson to perfection.

Bolton then shook off an attempted tackle by Harry Sharp, sidestepping the wingman to then snap a goal on his let boot as the clock ticked to zero for the term in Mandurah.

The goal was met with a rounding applause from the faithful and teammates were quick to get around their new No.15 who had a near faultless start to his career.

Bolton started the game up forward and nearly kicked the first goal of the game, with his early opportunity going wide of the big sticks.

He came into his own when he went into the midfield, providing a spark with his pace and flair offensively.

At one stage he tried to burn Norm Smith medallist Christian Petracca, who gave hot pursuit in an exciting contest.

Bolton’s goal capped off a term when he had five touches and a clearance.
