Geelong are coming off a rest, Brisbane are coming off the high of an almighty comeback against GWS only one will get the chance to take on the Swans in next week’s grand final.

The Lions are running hot but it’s been 20 years since they took down the Cats in a final who present a massive challenge even if they’ve swapped their traditional home for the MCG.

Despite the best efforts of the AFL’s equalisation methods the Cats continue to be a constant prescence in September and it will take something special (and better accuracy in front of goal) for the Lions to stop their run.

Brisbane back in front

A big smother from Joe Daniher and Noah Ainswerth just finds enough space to burst out the middle Charlie Cmaeron will get a free for a high but Ah Chee swoops to kick a massive goal on the run. What a game.

GEELONG HIT THE FRONT

Zac Bailey is running through on goal but decides to take on one to many and is caught holding the ball. It allows Geelong to launch and it’s Ollie Henry kicking his fourth goal to put the Cats up by 1. Some key moments from the Lions where they’ve cracked under pressure.

Henry gets the Cats back

Kai Lohman misses a sitter at the other end and this time Geelong launch up the wing and the kick from Shaun Mannagh is perfect to find Henry. He converts from around the corner and we’re back to a one goal margin

Logan Morris has a goal

Seven of the last eight for the Lions who break fast from the middle. the kick goes long but Raynor follows up and it eventually finds Morris who kicks it from the goal square.

Ah Chee has a second

Shades of teh first quarter this. All Geelong but no reward and Zac Bailey launches Brisbane with a brave kick forward. Charlie Cameron marks and he works it to Ah Chee who converts a massive goal.

Scores are level

It’s been all Geelong to start this qaurter but the Lions have been hanging on. A rushed behind ties the scores but the Geelong chants are ringing loudly.

Max Holmes looks done

He comes striaght from the ground after a contest and goes to the back of the bench. Mitch Duncan warming up, The rain is really starting to come down now.

THREE QUARTER TIME Brisbane 10.10 (70) Geelong 10.8 (68)

What a quarter from the Lions who found themselves 25 points down to now lead by two points. Kai Lohman and Cam Raynor had magnificent quarters though both missed shots at goal towards the end. But the forced move of Daniher to the ruck has seen the Lions force to go quick and low inside 50 with no tall options and the Cats haven’t been able to cope with the pace. Still it’s only two points, massive final quarter coming up.

Holmes is back on the ground

Good news for him at the Cats, Brisbane hit the front after Lohman kicks a behind.

One-point in it

A low ball inside 50 spills from the contest it falls to Ah Chee who handballs to Zac Bailey who finally takes his moment to straighten up and goals. A rushed behind shortly afterwards has the scores level at 68 a-peice,
