West Coast could be without boom recruit Jess Hosking for the next month, with the former Richmond midfielder ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Brisbane.

The Eagles’ leading goalkicker sustained a quad strain in their history-making 17-point win over Collingwood and will be sidelined for three to four weeks.

Hosking has been one of the shining lights of West Coast’s record-breaking start to the season, kicking four goals from as many games, including a breakout night against the team that delisted her in the opening round.

Despite only notching up eight touches against the Pies, Hosking had a team-high 10 tackles to draw the praise of coach Daisy Pearce.

“The amount of times when you’re sort of a bit shocked when you look at the stat sheet because she makes an impact even when she doesn’t get the ball,” Pearce said.

“Just her combative style. She’ll often fly through, collect two bodies on the way through, the ball spills and someone else gets the kick.

“That’s the team we want to become, one that doesn’t really value the stats sheet or who gets the accolades but really valuing those actions and there were a lot of them (against Collingwood).”

Midfielder Jade Britton has also been ruled out of Sunday’s game after developing delayed concussion symptoms from a tackle that saw her head hit the ground.

Defender Sophie McDonald has been included in the extended squad and could play her first game for the season after missing the first four with concussion symptoms.

Fremantle recruit Roxy Roux has also been named and is a chance to make her long-awaited debut for West Coast after breaking her hand in the final pre-season training session.

Roux played 37 games for the Dockers before crossing to their rivals.
