Woman found dead after house destroyed by fire

A crime scene has been declared after a fatal house fire in regional Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a property at Kathleen Street in Sarina, on the central Queensland coast, about 4.25pm on Sunday following reports a building was alight.

The fire has since been contained.

Police said a 71-year-old Sarina woman was found deceased inside the house.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
