Children looking for something to do during the school holidays need not look any further, as the team behind the Warren Agricultural Show have a few ideas.

Ahead of the annual show, the committee is letting people know about various competitions that children can participate in to show off their creativity.

The newest addition to the competition line-up is the decorated sunflower competition.

As part of the competition, participants buy a giant wooden sunflower frame to to decorate and enter in the competition.

“Put your sunflowers out to brighten up the town,” Show secretary Victoria Howe said.

Mrs Howe said the idea for the competition was to bring something different to the Show, but still pay homage to the region’s agricultural industry.

Other competitions at this year’s Show will include decorated gumboots, the Lego competition and decorated wheelbarrows.

There will also be the children’s sections for the photography and art competitions. Forms for competitions are available on the Show’s website.
